Here it is the last few days of February and I haven’t taken a February portrait of Charlotte. What to do? I thought I’d try to squeeze in a quick portrait yesterday afternoon, but it was so rainy and dreary that I just didn’t feel like it. So I came up with this novel idea: I let Charlotte go through all my snapshots that I’d taken in February and let her pick what she liked. The only criteria was that she had to be somewhere in the picture. So last night that’s what she did and here is what she came up with. I’ll add a little narrative as we go along, but first some background information. We took a weekend trip to Atlanta and the four pictures she chose were all taken during the trip.
Here’s the first one…on the way we stopped at Fatz Cafe in Gaffney which just happens to be right below the giant peach water tower. After eating, Charlotte, Samantha, Aubrey, Madeline, and Claire played tag around the peach. Charlotte is the one second from the left, closest to the peach. She said she picked this shot because she liked the capture of everyone running.

While we were in Atlanta we went to the American Girl doll store and had lunch at their bistro. April snapped this shot of me and Charlotte resting our feet. Charlotte said she picked it because it had me in it, aww, I love her
.
We also visited the Coca-Cola museum. I thought the red iridescent tiles were very cool looking so I snapped this shot of Charlotte tying her shoes. She said she picked this shot because she liked the tile, too.
This one was taken at Centennial Park. They have an awesome fountain in the shape of the Olympic rings. It’s made to play in, but since it was pretty cold while we were there I didn’t want them getting wet. They still had fun trying to dodge the jets of water. It would be so much fun in the summertime. They very much want to go back.
I hope you enjoyed Charlotte’s picks. It was fun for me to find out what shots were her favorites and why.
